As the demand for quality playspace continued to grow at Brompton CC a defunct section of the property became the ideal space for a multipurpose natural play space primarily for the 2-3 year old age group.
Previous work at the centre encouraged management to engage Betterlands understanding of play requirements and interpret their needs.
The core of the yard design is a sandpit bordered with natural materials. A rubble path leads to a secluded gathering corner with a bamboo screen back drop complimented by the planting of variety of sensory shrubs grasses and ornamental trees.
The design also included a small area of rubber softfall surfacing for portable play equipment such as climbing and balance items.
The end result was a well finished play environment influenced by a range of natural materials creating a space for the children to learn, play, gather, converse and extend their physical ability.
