We are very happy with the landscaping and layout of equipment in our new natural play area and feel it fits in well with our beautiful backdrop of gum trees and neighbouring creek.

The retaining wall installed to decrease erosion is purposeful yet suits the natural play space. We were very impressed with Phil’s collaborative approach to working in conjunction with our groundsman and the professionalism shown by all of his team.

At Highbury Primary School, we engaged Betterland as we were impressed with Phil’s knowledge of natural play spaces, his prompt response to requests and his understanding of DECD playground regulations/WHS requirements. He not only visited the school numerous times to discuss the area, our ideas and to speak with our groundsman but he also volunteered to speak at a community event where we screened the movie ‘Project Wildthing’ and had a representative from Nature Play speak. Phil was able to answer people’s questions around safety and regulations with ease. We asked that all equipment installed be as natural as possible and we were not disappointed. We would highly recommend Betterland to any school wishing to employ a company that is knowledgable, respectful of school needs, has great ideas, can work to a budget and are understanding of the ever changing school environment.

Over the past 8 years we have had many areas of our outdoor environment upgraded or redeveloped with Betterland. From the initial design meeting through to the completed project your team are respectful and effective communicators, always have a work site that is safe for students and staff and provide accurate timeframes for the work to be completed. At the completion of the project the work area is always left in pristine condition. Your capacity to translate ideas into a practical and appealing design has ensured that we have returned again and again to complete further projects. I’ve now also had the benefit of seeing how the quality of your work is long-lasting, the areas developed many years ago continue to appeal to children, are sturdy and strong and easy to maintain.

The contractor Phil Selby of Betterland has been most co-operative and helpful during this project. The site was left tidy and the whole project caused a minimum of inconvenience to our school. We found Betterland an excellent company to do business with.

Hello Phil,

Thank you for the work you have done on the amazing plans for St Therese School. We have had them on display and as yet not everyone has seen them. Those who have are incredibly impressed and excited about the potential.

I would like you to proceed with the work on the Southern Playground Development and wonder at your availability this year? I have cced my bursar Sonya Arnott into this as she will liaise with you and your workers.
